Firms Increase Investment In Performance Management Services To Evaluate Post Pandemic EHS Processes

The recent Verdantix Global Corporate EHS Services Survey analysed the viewpoints of 302 EHS decision makers surrounding their use of third party EHS services. This allows both corporate EHS professionals to benchmark their strategies against peers and executives at EHS consultancies to validate decisions using data driven insight. The survey explores the changing priorities and preferences for third party led EHS projects over the next 12 months as firms emerge from the pandemic.

With such entropy within the working environment over the last 18 months, health and safety professionals are seeking expert consultants to provide business continuity through EHS performance management projects. To understand how corporate priorities will shift as they emerge from pandemic, the Verdantix survey asked respondents how their budgets would change over the next 12 months, 56% of corporate respondents cited an increase in EHS performance management project spend, the highest of any EHS service category. This result comes as no surprise, as firms have pushed to transform EHS processes to fit the pandemic-induced hybrid working model, with heavy investment in EHS software, mobile EHS applications and wearable devices. To compound the uncertainty of the post pandemic ‘new normal’, EHS managers must tackle these challenges in conjunction with a myriad of new regulations, both COVID-19 and environmentally focused.

Consultancies have been active in providing EHS technology solutions to clients during the pandemic, witness ERM, which has structured its covid response services around accelerating and aligning digital EHS strategies in order to enable firms to create resilience, rebound and reimagine key workflows. Following such extreme EHS technology investment, firms are reliant on performance management services enables firms to consolidate new processes.
