Verdantix Green Quadrant Reveals Leading Industrial Asset Management Tech Implementation Consulting Firms

The recently released Verdantix Green Quadrant: Industrial Asset Management Technology Implementation Services 2024 evaluates 10 of the most prominent industrial asset management (IAM) technology implementation service providers, assessing their capabilities and market momentum. Our analysis entailed two-hour live briefings, 10+ client interviews, and consulting firm responses to a detailed 117-point questionnaire. Firms profiled in the study are Accenture, Arcadis, Capgemini, Cohesive, MaxGrip, Pinnacle, Sapphire, Stork, Wood and WSP. In key insights from the report, Verdantix notes that:

  • Rising spend on core asset management solutions is driving demand for services.
Verdantix 2023 survey data find that industrial organizations have big investment plans for core asset management solutions, with over 50% of maintenance and operations executives reporting increased spend on EAM and APM software implementations. Service providers such as Stork are responding to increased buyer appetite for asset management software through greater investment in partnerships and internal technology expertise. Others, such as Arcadis, Pinnacle and Wood, are heavily investing in internally developed tools, especially in the asset investment planning (AIP) and APM solution space.

  • IAM implementation services are provided by firms of various heritages.
The link between service providers and asset management technology is longstanding, stemming from the advent of enterprise industrial software in the 1990s. As such, a diverse collection of firms deliver implementation services, encompassing generalist service providers, engineering consultancies, industrial asset management (IAM) specialists and IAM systems integrators, with each category boasting strengths in technical, industrial or strategic capabilities when delivering projects. For example, Cohesive implements IBM Maximo and Bentley Systems’s AssetWise solutions, while Sapphire delivers broad business transformation services, including EAM software implementations of Hexagon’s HxGN EAM solution.

  • Ancillary services remain key to successful technology implementations.
Although technology suppliers increasingly look to emphasize the simplicity and flexibility of implementing their products, technical and strategic expertise underlies every successful implementation. To ensure steady adoption of newly installed systems, consultants leverage deep sector knowledge to manage change and help build business cases, as well as return on investment (ROI) tools to quantify potential returns on implementation. Services firms are also increasingly partnering with emerging tech providers to inform buyers of new asset management solutions available to them, such as AR and VR, 3D visualization and drones and robots.
