Elecosoft Acquires PEMAC: Strengthening CMMS For Regulated Industries
In January 2025, building lifecycle software provider Elecosoft acquired PEMAC, a Cork-based CMMS provider. Both organizations have a strong track record of serving life sciences and healthcare sectors, as well as regulated manufacturing industries such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemicals, and food and beverage production – all of which require high levels of compliance, efficiency and data-driven decision-making. By combining their expertise, Elecosoft and PEMAC aim to meet the rising demand for maintenance digitization in these heavily regulated sectors.
A key driver behind the acquisition is the shared vision of delivering comprehensive, industry-specific solutions. Elecosoft saw in PEMAC not just solid CMMS capabilities, but also a unique alignment with the needs of regulated environments, complementing its combined CMMS and CAFM software, ShireSystem. With the 2025 Verdantix industrial transformation survey revealing that 69% of respondents view improving regulatory compliance as a major driver for digital transformation, this partnership positions Elecosoft to capitalize on that need. Integrating PEMAC’s CMMS tools will help organizations track maintenance activities, schedule inspections and generate detailed reports – all critical processes for demonstrating adherence to regulatory requirements.
In the 2024 Smart Innovators: Computerized Maintenance Management Systems report, Elecosoft scored strongly for its asset information and procurement management capabilities, while PEMAC ASSETS received recognition for its advanced inspection and audit modules. By merging these strengths, the combined entity now offers a holistic CMMS solution that empowers organizations to streamline compliance, prioritize proactive maintenance needs and leverage actionable insights.
The combined Elecosoft-PEMAC entity and its CMMS solution is well-positioned to address the evolving needs of maintenance teams operating under tight regulatory scrutiny. As sectors such as aerospace manufacturing, chemical manufacturing and healthcare face ever-stricter compliance standards, solutions that offer robust auditing and comprehensive asset management will only grow in importance.
