Executive Summary

This report, based on a global survey of 150 supply chain executives, shines a spotlight on Scope 3 emissions reporting preparedness. The Verdantix 2022 supply chain sustainability survey reveals the growing importance of supply chain sustainability as a risk management and business resilience factor, and the increasing pressure from stakeholders to meet voluntary and mandatory ESG and sustainability supply chain standards (see Verdantix Global Corporate Survey 2022: Supply Chain Sustainability Analysis). At a time when value chain emissions are rising further up the corporate agenda, our findings indicate that firms risk underestimating the challenges of calculating and reporting Scope 3 emissions, thereby impeding their preparedness.
