Thinkstep’s Acquisition Of CloudApps Sustainability Cloud Further Strengthens Its Position In The Sustainability Software Segment

In late-July, 2017, thinkstep, the Germany-headquartered sustainability software and services provider, announced that it had acquired the CloudApps Sustainability Cloud assets, a corporate socio-environmental reporting solution that was originally part of the broader CloudApps product offering.

The CloudApps Sustainability Cloud solution provides a full range of reporting tools for corporate social responsibility purposes such as tracking human rights and local community engagement efforts, converting energy consumption records into emissions data, and identifying hot spots, gaps, trends or leaks in your EHS and supply chain operations.

Whilst thinkstep’s SoFi solution already has comprehensive coverage of mainstream reporting frameworks and standards such as the UN Global Compact, CDP, GRI, RobecoSAM and SASB, the acquisition strengthens their European presence with expanded coverage of the UK CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme reporting as well as the addition of UK-headquartered firms such as Amec Foster Wheeler, Tesco PLC and Thomas Cook Group as well as Germany-headquartered TUI Group.

thinkstep’s purchase of the CloudApps sustainability software assets puts it in a leading position for firms who are specifically looking for powerful sustainability data management, analytics and reporting. Among the 20 EHS software firms investigated in our Green Quadrant report, only four vendors (UL EHS Sustainability, Enablon, SAP, and IsoMetrix) scored above 2.0/3.0 for functionality needed to measure, report and forecast on sustainability performance. In addition to sustainability reporting, thinkstep also offers other software capabilities including their GaBi product offering for life cycle assessment, BOMcheck and EC4P for product compliance management, and integration with the Siemens PLM Teamcenter solution for end-to-end substance and materials management.
