A US-based private equity firm was in the process of assessing a potential acquisition target in the supply chain compliance software market. To aid their decision-making and potential go-to-market strategy, the firm engaged Verdantix to evaluate the growth potential of the business going forwards and the overall market stability.
Solution
For this project we developed a two-phase approach, combining existing Verdantix insights with additional primary research and interviews with the target firms customers, potential solution buyers, and key competitors. Phase 1 centered on assessing market demand, while Phase 2 focused on the competitive landscape to provide a comprehensive view of the market.
Our final deliverable provided our client with a segmented market size and forecast and TAM analysis. Additionally, we provided insight into the key buyer personas, their pain points and priorities, appetite for investment in supply chain compliance software and an overview of the targets main competitors, highlighting key points of product differentiation.

Based on our analysis, the client acquired the target which later went on to merge with one of the Private Equity firms portfolio companies.
