Acquisition Scan for ESG Solutions Firm Looking to Expand Geographically

Challenge

A leading European ESG software and services firm was looking to expand into new markets through an acquisition of an ESG services firm, which would allow it to enter new target markets as well as enhance its own service capabilities. The client engaged Verdantix to identify a shortlist of potential acquisition targets.


Solution

For this project we conducted an extensive search of our database for ESG services firms, refining the list based on the required criteria such as company size, geographic focus and core service capabilities. The original long list of over 950 firms was initially narrowed down to 60 firms and following further deliberation with the client this was reduced to 8 shortlisted targets. Subsequent interviews with each of the target firms provided additional insight into the firms appetite for acquisition and commercial performance. We provided our client with a final assessment of the 8 shortlisted firms, each ranked by their attractiveness as a potential acquisition target.


Outcome

Following the project, our client has initiated discussions with the top targets around partnerships and acquisition.
