Executive Summary

This report provides a detailed, fact-based benchmark of nine of the most prominent environmental services providers on the market. Based on the proprietary Verdantix Green Quadrant methodology, our analysis entailed 90-minute vendor briefings, client interviews and consulting firm responses to a detailed 58-point questionnaire covering both capabilities and momentum criteria. Verdantix analysis finds that the environmental services market has taken an uptick in growth, driven by customer demand for support to manage environmental risks and execute sustainability initiatives. While the players in the space are established and recognizable, innovation, investment and acquisition have shaped a dynamic market landscape. Among the providers featured in the Leaders’ Quadrant, three firms – Arcadis, ERM and WSP – demonstrated the most comprehensive environmental services capabilities.
