Verdantix Celebrates Pioneers Of Innovation At The 2023 EHS Innovation Excellence Awards Americas

Verdantix, a purpose-driven research firm at the forefront of world-enhancing innovation, today announced the winners of its 2023 EHS Innovation Excellence Awards Americas. These awards shine a spotlight on exceptional achievements across the fields of EHS, ESG, sustainability and operations. To be eligible for an award, applicants must demonstrate how they have applied cutting-edge technology and thinking to achieve measurable results.

The nine winners include leading global organizations and trailblazing individual leaders who have developed and implemented solutions that have fundamentally transformed the EHS, ESG, sustainability and operations landscapes, creating new industry benchmarks and setting an example for others to follow.

The winners in the nine categories are:

  • Albemarle Corporation – EHS Compliance Digitization recognizing its large-scale digitalized and unified environmental and industrial hygiene reporting and monitoring solution, which achieved an impressive 100% user acceptance rate.
  • David Brodie, Cargill – EHS Digital Leader for leading a digital transformation programme that automated risk assessments, revolutionized workflows, and achieved an 80% improvement in time savings.
  • Southern California Edison (SCE) – Environmental Impact Award for a comprehensive strategy that strengthened operational performance, reduced environmental incidents and emissions, and positioned SCE as an industry leader in environmental protection.
  • The Hershey Company – ESG Metrics & Reporting for its digital solution to streamline its ESG reporting process, leading to improved strategy execution, work processes and reporting.
  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited – Integrated Process Safety Management for leveraging AI and computer vision technology to enhance safety in high-risk activities.
  • Roche – Operational Risk Management for harnessing AI and machine learning to resolve complex problems, resulting in improved safety, asset reliability, production and cost management.
  • United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR) – Safety Performance Improvement for successfully implementing wearable technology solutions to address an increase in heat-related illnesses and overcoming employee fears to enhance safety in high-hazard environments.
  • Baylor Scott & White Health – Safety & Social Impact Award for its project to digitally transform Employee Health Services, enhancing data management, optimizing service delivery and creating a people-focused user experience, leading to increased employee satisfaction and industry recognition.
  • Mitsubishi Cement Corporation – Worker Wellbeing & Ergonomics for introducing customized ear protection devices that improve hearing for employees with hearing impairment.

 

Additionally, Verdantix awarded a 'Highly Commended' honour to Masonite Corporation in the Safety Performance Improvement category for its data-driven safety roadmap project.

In addition to the outstanding organizations that have invested in innovative projects, the awards also highlight the invaluable contributions of supporting technology and consulting firms, including C3 AI, Cority, ehsAI, Enablon, EY, LifeBooster, Salterbaxter, SlateSafety, Sparkcognition, Tactical Hearing, Trinity Consulting and Workiva.

The awards ceremony took place on October 17, 2023, in San Diego, California, as part of the Verdantix EHS North America Summit. This premier event brought together hundreds of senior leaders, providing a platform to exchange insights, hear directly from Verdantix expert analysts and discover the latest trends in EHS innovation.
