Job Overview

Working in a team of analysts located in the firm’s London, New York, and Boston offices, the Analyst will undertake strategic research on topics at the intersection of factory operations, industrial performance and digital technologies. Success in the role requires an interest in digital technology and a background in computer science, chemical or mechanical engineering in a factory setting. The successful candidate will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research, write high quality written reports and present research findings to client executives.

Experience / Diploma

  • Educated to undergraduate level with a preference for top-tier universities, ideally with a degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science. 
  • Interested to see candidates with relevant post-graduate qualifications (Masters or PhD).  
  • Preferably 2+ years work experience in a factory role preferably with exposure to industrial technologies, engineering or maintenance. 
  • Preferably 2+ years work experience within industrial software business or consultancy.  
  • Experience in conducting research interviews and contributing to the development of research reports is a plus. 
  • Broader interest in the future of industrial technologies. 

 

Skills / Specific Knowledge

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and come up with new ideas. 
  • Sufficient quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply basic mathematical concepts. 
  • Familiarity with how to produce charts in Excel and figures in PowerPoint. 
  • Proven knowledge of analytical techniques and tools to better understand and manage risks including acute and chronic. 
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and come up with new ideas. 
  • Proven ability to quickly write high quality reports for a business audience. 
  • Quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply basic mathematical concepts. 
  • Familiarity with MS office suite (including PowerPoint) to produce client ready analysis and presentations. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and team collaboration skills. 
  • Experience in interviewing senior managers over the phone and in person to collect business information. 
  • Perfect written English and fluent spoken English.  
  • Additional language skills desirable but not essential (e.g. French, Spanish, German). 
  • World class sense of humour. 
 
Main Activities

  • Conducting research based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies. 
  • Undertaking research interviews with operations, engineering and maintenance managers. 
  • Building quantitative models to size and forecast industrial technology markets. 
  • Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English. 
  • Producing reports on technology vendors based on technology briefings.  
  • Working on consulting projects relating to industrial technologies including wearables, drones, digital twins, data science and software. 
  • Attending industry events to help raise the profile of Verdantix in the market.  
  • Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients and senior industry decision makers.  
  • Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities.
