Reporting into the VP of Advisory Services, the Director will lead the development of our advisory business in the areas of ESG, Sustainability and Environment, Health & Safety. The role has a dual commercial and project delivery focus and includes line manager responsibilities for 2-3 colleagues in the advisory function. 

With respect to delivery, you will be responsible for the successful execution of our most complex consulting projects in ESG, Sustainability and Environment, Health & Safety. These projects include, but are not limited to, market strategy, acquisitions scans, commercial due diligence, thought leadership and vendor selection. (While we are not deep technical experts, the majority of these projects feature some sort of technology angle.) Within our projects, you will take the project director role and will be expected to provide steering and coaching to the project managers and other team members, as well as supporting on risk identification, issue resolution, project solutioning and deliverable quality control. You will also be expected to attend key project meetings and take a leadership role in final presentations. The successful candidate should expect to be working across 3-4 projects simultaneously with team sizes that range from two to five people. 

On the commercial side, you will be accountable for growing the size of our advisory practice in the areas of ESG, Sustainability and Environment, Health & Safety. While in part, this will involve developing opportunities identified by the sales team, you will also be expected to drive growth through the development of your own relationships with clients. It is also expected you work with our marketing team to direct their efforts and therefore create further sales opportunities.   

Success in the role will be measured across four metrics: client satisfaction, sales, project profitability and the development of your direct reports. 


  • At least twelve years’ experience delivering consulting engagements 
  • A track record of selling consulting projects and building long-term partnerships with clients 
  • Educated to at least BA / BSc level with a preference for top-tier universities – desirable to have a relevant MSc 
  • Experience in working with international teams located in different time zones 
  • Experience of working across multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Track record of producing top quality advisory deliverables and project outcomes to commercial clients 
  • Proven ability to present complex project deliverables to senior executives 
  • Proven consulting sales expertise and proposal writing capabilities 
  • Excellent time management skills and organisational skills with a verifiable track record of meeting deadlines 
  • High ethical standards  
  • Outstanding sense of humour
