Working with an excellent team of analysts located in the firm’s UK and US offices, the analyst will play a pivotal role in providing our clients with an informed view of how climate risks will impact business and investment decisions over the next ten years. We are looking for candidates who are interested in joining our award-winning research firm, focusing on a research area that requires passion and practicality, and building a career in one of our fastest growing research teams. Excelling in the role requires an enthusiasm for understanding how technology can improve business outcomes, experience in producing high-quality written deliverables, and the ability to contribute to client-facing engagements. Successful candidates will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research in collaboration with other analysts. Experience/Diploma

  • Educated to undergraduate level with a preference for top-tier universities.
  • Very interested to see candidates with relevant post-graduate qualifications (Masters or PhD).
  • Ideal role for a PhD candidate or someone currently doing post-doctoral academic work, looking for commercial experience in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience in conducting research interviews and contributing to the development of research reports is a plus.
  • Broader interest in the future of Net-Zero and Climate Risk.

 

Skills/Specific Knowledge

  • Existing subject matter expertise on climate change science, environmental impacts, societal impacts and future projections for climate change.
  • Proven knowledge of analytical techniques and tools to better understand and manage climate change related risks including acute and chronic.
  • Ability to articulate an informed view of how climate risks will impact business and investment decisions over the next ten years.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and come up with new ideas.
  • Proven ability to quickly write high quality reports for a business audience.
  • Quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Familiarity with MS office suite (including PowerPoint) to produce client ready analysis and presentations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Perfect written English and fluent spoken English.
  • World class sense of humour.

 

Main Activities

  • Conducting research based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies.
  • Undertaking research interviews with senior managers at corporations and financial firms, as well as executives at technology vendors.
  • Building quantitative models to size and forecast software and services markets.
  • Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English.
  • Producing reports on technology vendors based on technology briefings.
  • Supporting client workshops and consulting projects.
  • Working on consulting projects relating to climate risk and the solutions to manage it.
  • Attending industry events to help raise the profile of Verdantix in the market.
  • Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients and senior industry decision makers.
  • Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities.
