Yokogawa's Asset Health Insights Solution Combines Domain Expertise With Anomaly Detection For Asset Performance Optimization

In June 2022, Yokogawa released its Oprex Asset Health Insights (AHI) solution, which along with its range of IIoT sensors for vibration, temperature, and pressure monitoring forms its asset performance management suite.

AHI gathers info from a variety of different systems and sensors to gain better visibility into asset condition, perform predictive maintenance, and detect anomalies to prevent failures before they occur. AHI consists of three modules, which include: asset management to create an Asset Hierarchy and Information database, Asset Dashboard containing out-of-the-box charts and reports to visualise KPIs and Asset Analytics to detect anomalies and take mitigating actions. AHI includes a ‘self-service’ feature, which allows users to create dashboard easily, either through templates provided by Yokogawa or by creating their own. This ‘self-service’ feature ensures the user does not have to constantly invoke Yokogawa. One of Yokogawa’s key USP includes it’s strong subject matter expertise in the oil and gas industry, along with the ability to undertake customer readiness assessment; identifying which assets need to be monitored and prioritized.  Yokogawa has also developed interfaces with multiple systems, manufacturers and sensors such as eServ, ISA Gateway, Lora and PI Historian.

APM and its specific use cases for asset condition, predictive maintenance and asset reliability are growing fast, with the market expected to grow from $2.9 billion in 2022 to $4.5 billion in 2026. The market is competitive, with the presence of established vendors such as AspenTech, AVEVA, GE Digital, Bentley Systems offering a fully comprehensive APM software platform and new entrants such as Augury, craftworks, QiO Technologies and SparkCognition. Yokogawa sets itself apart in the space with its strong domain knowledge along with the ability to support customers in their overall asset management digitization journey.
