AdaptIT’s IntelliPERMIT Offers A Robust Control Of Work Software Application For Firms In Metals And Mining Industries
In the Verdantix 2020 global corporate survey we heard from 259 managers in operations, engineering, maintenance and process safety roles about their firms operational excellence budgets, priorities and tech preferences. Thirty-one percent of respondents use control of work software widely across operations or at multiple facilities, while a further 25% mentioned limited usage at a few facilities and 27% as pilot projects. Safe operations is one of the top operational excellence priorities of firms and control of work software helps in achieving this. This is driving investment in control of work software by firms in industries with elevated risks to manage. AdaptIT’s IntelliPERMIT control of work software offers functionality for permit to work, isolation management, job risk assessment and shift handover management.
IntelliPERMIT has over 20,000 users who collectively generate over 7 million electronic signatures per year. Publicly named customers include BHP, Eskom, Groote Eylandt Mining Company and South32. One customer study found that 75% of their historical permit and isolation breaches could have been prevented if they had been using IntelliPERMIT sooner. The in-depth workflow builder ensures that correct processes are followed and signed off by the right people before any work is completed. IntelliPERMIT can integrate with biometric or access card scanners to verify these e-signatures and ensure that workers have the right competencies for the job.
Enabling safe, simultaneous operation (or SIMOPS) of multiple close proximity works enables AdaptIT’s customers to reduce downtime in their facilities while keeping their technicians safe. The robust rule-based workflows ensure that any conflicting activities do not occur too close to each other. IntelliPERMIT promotes visibility by allowing users to see what permits are active, where they are and when they happen by providing a map view. The partnership with IsoBuilder has allowed customers to use their P&ID’s to better plan their isolation design and link this directly to their permits. In September 2020, AdaptIT launched the IntelliPERMIT mobile app for Android, which allows workers to view and sign permits remotely and scan QR codes or RFID tags for isolations.
