Riku Rusanen is a visionary global leader in workplace strategy and design, currently leading Nokia’s transformation of the workplace experience across Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and beyond. As Workplace Strategy & Design Lead, Riku is responsible for aligning Nokia’s physical work environments with its business strategy, culture, and innovation agenda — delivering spaces that inspire performance, collaboration, and employee wellbeing.

With over 25 years of international experience, Riku has delivered more than 150 workplace design projects, optimized over 250,000 sqm of Nokia’s real estate portfolio, and transformed over 500,000 sqm of office space for more than 50 occupiers. He led the creation of Nokia’s global workplace design concept, which set a new standard for future-ready work environments. Under his leadership, the Nokia One HQ in Espoo was honored with an International Property Award in the Office Interior category in 2020.

Riku is accountable for the global procurement strategy and execution of design and architectural services at Nokia. He successfully manages a global network of over 20 external design firms. His strategic oversight ensures consistent design excellence and operational efficiency across Nokia’s global footprint.

Known for his ability to lead through complexity and transformation, Riku inspires cross-functional teams and aligns diverse stakeholders toward shared goals. His leadership blends creative vision with commercial acumen, making him a trusted advisor to executive leadership. He is passionate about building collaborative cultures and creating environments where people and ideas thrive.

Earlier in his career, Riku served as a key account director, where he generated significant business growth for a start-up design firm—elevating its reputation to a recognized regional player. This experience underscores his ability to deliver strategic impact beyond design.
