Digital Solutions Enable Firms To Operationalize ESG Strategies

Embedding sustainability strategies across business operations is becoming critical for firms as they respond to investor focus on ESG. Given this new wave of demand it’s unsurprising that an extensive range of software vendors have doubled-down on their ESG product strategies. A recent Verdantix Benchmark of 44 corporate ESG and sustainability software solutions identified four main software categories which serve use cases aligned with operationalizing ESG and sustainability strategies.

Managers who need to implement a CEO-announced net zero carbon goal can select from a broad range of 34 energy and carbon software suppliers. The Verdantix assessment identified ClearTrace, Envizi, Measurabl, Schneider Electric and SINAI Technologies as some of the vendors with comprehensive offerings. Among the 29 software solutions for environmental management, long-standing EHS vendors with 20 or more years of experience such as Cority, Intelex and Sphera are best positioned to operationalize the ‘E’ in ESG. The benchmark identified only 24 digital solutions for social issues management, the most comprehensive capabilities are provided by EcoVadis and IsoMetrix. Just 16 of the 44 vendors we benchmarked had convincing digital solutions to help implement governance improvements. Diligent, Enablon, IsoMetrix and NAVEX Global stood out as providers with stronger capabilities.
