Verdantix Assesses The Fourteen Major Software Applications For Facility Optimization In Independent Benchmark
London – January 08, 2018. Independent research firm Verdantix analyzed the 14 strongest providers in the global market for facility optimization software to publish the report “Green Quadrant Facility Optimization Software”. The analysis involved comparing software applications based on 11 live product demonstrations, responses to a 135-point questionnaire about the products, and interviews with 14 corporates across seven industries who have already bought or are actively looking to invest in facility optimization software. Based on the proprietary Verdantix Green Quadrant methodology, this is the only independent benchmark of facility optimization software available on the market today.
The report examines the vendors’ strengths and evaluates their market momentum while exploring different usage scenarios. The study findings identify Schneider Electric, Siemens, IBM, Envizi, and EnerNOC as the market leaders. Other strong firms included in the quadrant are Switch Automation, Powerhouse Dynamics, GridPoint, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, ENTOUCH, BuildingIQ, Yardi and Iconics.
“Facility optimization solutions have grown from a core of energy management capabilities to encompass the enhancement of facility asset and maintenance management, as well as integrate portions of building automation for improved control and management of occupant comfort and wellbeing”, commented Derrek Clarke, Verdantix Industry Analyst and author of the report. “Supplier optimization solutions are focused on asset-centred visions for getting the best performance out of building equipment and systems, often through solutions that combine both a software and services value proposition. To succeed vendors will have to expand their partnership ecosystem beyond complementary software firms to include hardware manufacturers to ensure they get the most out of Internet-of-Things (IoT) enabled solutions.”
“The benefits of jumping from energy management to facility optimization is principally a much stronger business case. The benefits range from stronger energy management, allowing condition based maintenance to reduce activity requirements, cutting down on duplication of data capture and inspections, operational performance insights, to gaining control over small sites without a BMS. There is also a need to have scalable, IoT ready platforms to make sense out of the deluge of building data. A lot of these benefits are at the heart of the smart building agenda – these solutions help to make it a reality”, added Rodolphe d’Arjuzon, Managing Director at Verdantix and head of the Real Estate, Energy and Facilities Optimization research practice.
