Executive Summary

This Green Quadrant report provides a detailed benchmark of the sustainability management software capabilities of 15 software suppliers. The analysis helps buyers of software such as Chief Sustainability Officers and Vice Presidents of EH&S to short list preferred software and make purchase decisions. Based on the Verdantix Green Quadrant methodology, the analysis combines product benchmark data from 15 suppliers, responses to an 87 point questionnaire and interviews with an independent panel of 15 customers across 11 industries. These customers have bought, or are planning to buy, sustainability management software. The study finds that customers need software to enhance data quality, undertake baseline recalculation and benchmark facility performance. Nine suppliers lead the sustainability management software market. When selecting an application, buyers should focus on the fit between the currently available software functionality and their sustainability management requirements. Since suppliers serve different industry groups buyers need to understand their similarities with the existing customer base.
