Executive Summary

As global spending increases on corporate sustainability initiatives, sustainability leaders engage with a myriad of sustainability service providers. These engagements include partnerships with consultants and assurance providers, as well as the purchasing of sustainability management software and collaboration with sustainability-related not-for-profit organizations. This report helps Strategy Leaders, Chief Marketing Officers and Business Development Directors that operate in the sustainability consulting, assurance, software and not-for-profit sectors to understand their brand’s perception among heads of sustainability and benchmark their brand’s performance. Verdantix interviewed 250 sustainability decision-makers and budget holders at $250 million-plus firms, representing 13 countries and 21 industries. Verdantix asked survey participants about current and future engagement, awareness, and perceptions of 52 sustainability consulting firms, assurance providers, software vendors and not-for-profit organizations. Verdantix finds that decision-makers prefer the sustainability services of established global brands.
