Modern slavery is a serious and organised crime that destroys communities and causes significant harm to victims. It is the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain, and involves people being coerced and forced into providing a service to others. It is a crime that affects people of all genders, ages (including children) and ethnicities and is a violation of fundamental human rights. Verdantix is committed to ensuring that our business and supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, and all forms of corruption and bribery, directly and indirectly, associated with these criminal acts.
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other business partners of our company.
Companies that carry on a business, or part of a business, in the UK, supply goods or services, and have an annual turnover of £36 million or more are required to provide an anti-slavery policy. This is in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 law, which sets out the UK Government’s legal requirements for how organisations must address and report on modern slavery. The requirements apply to these companies’ own operations and their supply chains.
All employees, contractors, suppliers, and other business partners are responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy. Any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking should be reported immediately to the appropriate person within our company.
We will provide training to all managers on the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. This training will be provided on an ongoing basis to ensure that all managers are aware of their responsibilities under this policy.
We will monitor our business and supply chains for any risks of modern slavery or human trafficking. We will take appropriate action if any risks are identified.
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure that it remains effective in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
