This report provides insights from 35 interviews conducted with software users as part of the recently released Verdantix Green Quadrant study of 20 vendors in the ESG reporting and data management market (see Verdantix Green Quadrant: ESG Reporting And Data Management Software). Vendors, prospective buyers and investors should use this report to understand the primary needs and preferences of customers, best practices, and use cases of ESG reporting and data management software. Verdantix interviewed customers across a wide range of industries, regions and titles, encompassing chief compliance officers, chief operating officers and heads of ESG and sustainability, amongst others, and spanning various departments, such as compliance, CSR, EHS, ESG and finance. Our research shows that customers place a high priority on vendors’ value for money, relationships, language capabilities and industry knowledge. Customers note that to obtain maximum value from ESG reporting and data management software, corporates should focus on efficient time management and stakeholder communication, make use of services, and develop a clear strategy.
