Executive Summary

This report provides operations and maintenance executives with an analysis of the predictive maintenance capabilities of 15 APM software providers. The report leverages the Verdantix Green Quadrant analysis on APM software published in September 2022 and deepens the analysis of predictive maintenance capabilities (see Verdantix Green Quadrant: Asset Performance Management Solutions 2022). AVEVA and GE Digital lead the market for predictive maintenance capabilities, followed by Baker Hughes, IBM and AspenTech. The majority of APM software providers offer solid capabilities for predictive maintenance, so buyers have ample choice. However, buyers should select predictive maintenance software providers based on their ability to go beyond predictive into prescriptive maintenance, and to robustly identify false positives in order to minimize unnecessary alarm events.
