GE Digital Introduces Operations Performance Management Software, Offers Power Utilities A Comprehensive Suite Of Solutions Along With Predix APM And Remote Operations

According to the 2019 Verdantix survey of 284 operations, maintenance, and process safety executives, 87% mentioned performance measurement to be a high or moderate priority to improve over the next two years. The power generation sector especially is undergoing a change with more distributed as well as renewable generation being added to the mix along with the existence of aging assets and shrinking workforce. Power plant managers as well as heads of maintenance and operations are under increasing pressure to achieve plant KPIs by adopting a two-pronged approach of minimizing downtime and maximizing performance. Asset performance management (APM) software helps to optimize reliability, prioritize repairs, plan inspections and enhance asset risk management, while operations performance management (OPM) software helps to boost productivity, efficiency, throughput and revenues. APM and OPM combined contribute towards a firm’s top as well as bottom line.

GE Digital offers a comprehensive set of capabilities for APM software and emerged as a leader in the Verdantix Green Quadrant benchmark for APM solutions. Its Predix APM solution garnered perfect scores for asset health monitoring and asset failure prediction. GE Digital’s recently launched OPM software includes modules for Performance Intelligence, Production Planning, and Performance Optimization. The OPM software integrates operational data from assets as well as other data sets such as weather forecast, historical gas prices and historical energy prices to build plant-specific performance models. Using machine learning and artificial intelligence for advanced analytics, GE Digital’s OPM software caters to a variety of use cases including supporting power plant managers with day ahead predictions for capacity and peak market capture, forecasting fuel consumption based on demand predictions to minimize fuel imbalance costs and improving efficiency and emissions through intelligent combustion control and emissions tuning. OPM software along with Predix APM and Remote Operations solution offers power utilities a comprehensive suite of solutions to ensure safe as well as efficient continuation of business operations.
