In 2018, 57% Of Firms Will Use Mobile Apps For EHS Audits And Incidents
According to the Verdantix global survey of 382 EHS decision-makers, 57% expect to use mobile apps in 2018 either widely across all their facilities, at multiple facilities or as a pilot project at one facility. The past three to four years has witnessed a rise in the adoption of mobile apps for EHS management as it helps in engaging frontline workers, enables timely and more accurate reporting of incidents, near-misses and safety observations and improves safety for lone workers by relaying information on the location of the worker and communicating important safety/emergency messages.
Mobile-centric vendors such as Acumen Mobile, Go-ARC, Guardian24, NeoSystems, NordSafety and WorkforceAlpha often achieve higher levels of end user engagement than tech firms which have built a mobile interface to their enterprise app.
A majority of enterprise software vendors now offer mobile apps for EHS scenarios. Cority, Enablon, Gensuite, Intelex and VelocityEHS achieved the five highest scores for this capability in the Green Quadrant benchmark. Vendors who do not offer any capabilities for mobile apps are now at a severe competitive disadvantage and so are continually undertaking investment to offer new and improved functionality.
