Executive Summary

With the rapid proliferation of ESG strategies and frameworks, firms have identified the EHS function as uniquely positioned to assist with their internal execution and support. Increased pressure from financial institutions and government regulatory bodies, along with voluntary disclosures, is adding to the complexity of ESG and compliance requirements and putting additional strain on operational workflows. This trend is only expected to continue, given the current outlook for climate impacts and mitigation and tracking methods. As an established function that already reports several related metrics, EHS teams will be called upon to assist ESG teams with both internal initiatives and ESG disclosures. This report will assist EHS directors and managers in identifying best practices and implementing pre-emptive strategies, and will highlight various solutions to the challenges surrounding the implementation of ESG operations.
