Smart Innovators: Building Occupant Mobile Apps

Executive Summary

This report provides corporate real estate, facilities management and workplace executives, as well as asset managers and landlords, with an assessment of the emerging category of mobile apps designed to improve occupant and tenant experience of buildings. Over the past two years, there has been a flurry of new mobile apps launched by start-ups, workplace management specialists, IWMS vendors and building management software vendors that look to provide building users with better access to workplace services and local amenities. Based on our analysis of 28 building occupant mobile apps, this report reviews trends in product design, core usage scenarios and how building occupant apps are likely to develop in tandem with the IoT technology trend and proliferation of smart buildings.
