Executive Summary

This report helps chief marketing officers and practice leaders at consulting firms that provide operational risk management services to understand the strength of their brand awareness and brand preference in the eyes of 221 customers across nine economic regions. Verdantix conducted the brand assessment between May and June 2018 via telephone interviews with directors and managers in operations, production, maintenance and safety roles in relation to operational risk management topics. Of the 221 respondents, all belong to firms with revenues of at least $250 million, covering 12 industries. The survey finds that for both brand preference and awareness IBM and Schneider Electric take the top two spots: 41% of respondents consider IBM to have ‘leading’ or ‘strong capabilities’ and Schneider Electric achieves brand preference with 26% of the respondents. Among EHS/engineering services firms, AECOM has the highest brand preference followed by WorleyParsons and DuPont Sustainable Solutions. Accenture and Deloitte also feature positively in this market.
