Executive Summary
UK firms are working to align with the country’s energy transition goals, despite uncertainty around the national pace of delivery. They are shaping their business cases for new power sources and solutions around the need for operational resilience, exposure to volatile energy costs, decarbonization objectives and rising opportunities from grid flexibility. In particular, businesses are increasing investment in both on- and off-site renewable energy. The Verdantix commercial and industrial energy transition survey of 52 UK firms reveals a private sector increasingly focused on long-term competitiveness through cleaner, more reliable and cost-effective energy strategies.
