London City Airport Improves Contractor Safety And Work Efficiency Through Permit To Work Software
08 Oct, 2020
Executive Summary
This report is one in a series of case studies which explore the adoption of operational excellence technologies at prominent industrial firms. London City Airport (LCA) is the capital’s most central airport, handling over five million passengers in 2019. LCA wanted to ensure safe and smooth operations while an influx of contractors work on the airport’s £480 million ($622 million) development programme. The new permit to work software from the Alcumus Group (Alcumus) handles all permit to work applications made by contractors, checks they comply with regulations and notifies relevant departments at LCA of their work. The new system maintains the strong regulatory compliance whilst allowing managers to make informed decisions to optimize their operational performance.
