Executive Summary

Since receiving an investment of $123 million in August 2015, the Intelex product development team has gone into over-drive to build a new EHSQ software platform. The new product strategy promises customers better EHSQ metrics through a collaborative user alliance, improved EHSQ insights with a flexible business intelligence platform, increased user engagement with native mobile apps and responsive web apps, a roadmap on how to leverage EHSQ technology to enhance innovation, and cheaper and faster integration via REST interfaces. Our analysis suggests that the new platform aligns with emerging priorities for edge users, core users and power users. The Intelex focus on collaboration to add value to EHS software deployments should focus on techniques to engage edge users. Over time this will add significant value to deployments as thousands of front line workers contribute data to the EHS app and receive direct benefits themselves. The Intelex strategy team have realistic expectations about the need to undertake several years of customer education to achieve the long-term vision of aggregating EHSQ corporate data from multiple firms to generate valuable insights and benchmarks.
