Executive Summary

The adoption of EHS technology is continuing to grow, as firms look to solidify their business-critical processes, with EHS training, learning and development a key focus for many corporate health and safety leaders. Firms are utilizing a wide variety of technology solutions to deliver training across the entire gamut of EHS topics, ranging from simple PowerPoint presentations to nascent virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications. Whilst the core benefits of implementing e-learning solutions are well-known, many corporate EHS training initiatives fail to deliver their desired impact on EHS performance. In this report, Verdantix aims to guide EHS professionals through best practice in implementing technology solutions, to maximize the efficacy of their firms’ training processes. To leverage technology effectively when building EHS training programmes, our research finds that organizations should focus on deploying a blended range of training methodologies, linking training data to core EHS metrics and upholding strong change management throughout digitization projects.
