Executive Summary

In August 2017, Accruent – an 800-employee provider of real estate, facilities and asset management software solutions backed by Genstar Capital – announced that it acquired Lucernex, an integrated workplace management system (IWMS) software vendor with over 70 customers. Lucernex provides Accruent with strengthened lease accounting software functionality, retail-specific real estate software functionality, and new and complementary client relationships in the retail sector. Following 14 software acquisitions, Accruent is now focusing on the integration of its many solutions through a unified data platform and single reporting layer. As it runs a product integration programme, it has the potential to provide a software platform that is not only broad but also offers significant depth. As Accruent develops its next generation platform, it will need to educate potential customers on how it will maintain industry specializations within an integrated platform and bring consistency to the user experience.
