Executive Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic was the catalyst for a monumental shift in working practices to more flexible, remote and hybrid models – leaving vast office spaces vacant. The environmental impact of this shift has been the subject of much discussion, with emissions from commutes and corporate buildings having reduced, while home office emissions have increased. The shift in scope of these emissions means that not all corporates have worked out if – and how – to address them. Corporate executives can use this report to understand the status quo of current work-from-home emissions tracking and to gain awareness of the drivers pushing firms to begin this kind of tracking. The report explores some of the software and services available on the market to assist with monitoring and abatement.
