A Total Worker Health programme takes a holistic approach to ensure that workers remain both safe and healthy. Previously, firms only considered and planned for mitigation against physical risks. However, research in the Total Worker Health sphere has highlighted other factors, such as a worker’s behaviour and their surrounding environment, which can contribute to poor health and injury. As technology continues to serve as a fulcrum within the EHS sphere, firms are considering how they can improve insights and the management of Total Worker Health.
