Executive Summary

This report is one in a series of case studies which explore the adoption of operational excellence technologies at prominent industrial firms. EDF, the French power utility’s nuclear generation business sought to simplify as well as improve visibility across its work processes by transitioning from pen and paper to a mobile-accessible electronic work package solution to action and record work. This digital transformation initiative has yielded £6.5 million ($8.5 million) in cost savings along with a substantial increase in efficiency and productivity due to the time that technicians and supervisors are able to spend on the field rather than on administrative tasks.
