Executive Summary

Physical security – from access and asset protection, to personal safety – is a fundamental concern for all entities. Security-related operations have grown more complex as environmental conditions and occupant behaviours change. Verdantix interviewed 350 senior real estate and facilities management decision-makers at mid to large enterprises across 13 countries and 20 industries for our 2022 global corporate smart building technology survey. Thirty-seven per cent of our survey respondents expect their firms to further enhance building security over the next 12 months, with an additional 9% just starting these efforts. This report provides highlights from the study to help facilities decision-makers and vendors better understand the demand for several types of physical security-related technologies.
