Executive Summary
This report helps environment, health and safety (EHS) executives in mid-market firms—revenues between $250 million and $1 billion—benchmark their firms’ EHS budgets, investments priorities and technology use relative to their global peer group. Executives at EHS consulting and technology providers also can use the survey findings to support their strategic decision-making and business planning. Verdantix gathered this data as part of our annual global corporate survey, which interviewed 403 senior EHS decision-makers across 35 countries and 25 industries. Of these respondents, 85 (21%) belonged to the mid-market segment, while 184 (46%) belonged to the core enterprise segment—$1 billion to $10 billion in revenue—and 134 (33%) belonged to the large enterprise segments—more than $10 billion in annual revenue. Verdantix survey data finds that mid-market firms have equally ambitious plans for digital transformation efforts with emphasis on EHS software, EHS mobile apps and digital sensors. Cost, inflexible product architecture, poor-quality user interface and lack of out-of-the-box workflows are top factors that limit adoption of EHS software among mid-market firms.
