Verdantix runs an annual series of events in the UK and US comprising multi-day summits and one day forums. In addition, we host regularly half-day executive briefings. Our events are aimed at c-suite audiences and focus on themes in the ESG and Sustainability, Net Zero and Climate Risk, EHS and Smart Buildings sectors. Verdantix events are known for the quality of their speakers, depth of insight and excellent venues. The Event Director will be a highly motivated team player with an established track record in having designed and managed a commercial events programme. They will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Verdantix's planned events for 2023-24 and supporting the expansion of the business in future years. This will include the design of individual events, proposition development, speaker profiling, key-note acquisition and day-to-day management of the P and L. They will work with the Event Manager (and broader Marketing Team) and report to the Marketing Director.


  • Extensive experience in designing events to meet strategic goals
  • Experience of team management, with an emphasis on supporting development in a fast-growing environment
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders (both within and outside your organisation)
  • Educated to degree level

To be considered you must have the following skills:

  • Full understanding of the events business model
  • An excellent understanding of how to design compelling and marketable events
  • The ability to develop a proposition and then translate that into an agenda and speaker roster
  • The ability to conduct market research to ensure that our events fit the expectations of our sponsors and attendees
  • An understanding of how events fit into our broader corporate and marketing strategy
  • The ability to work with and influence leaders within the business
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • The ability to manage a team at optimal efficiency
  • An understanding of risk management and mitigation
  • Supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Experience of marketing events

Specific Business Understanding

  • Experience within professional services, management consulting, market data, or technology is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working in areas such as sustainability, ESG, climate risk, EHS or Smart Buildings would be highly desirable



  • Some understanding of sales and marketing processes is a plus.
  • Excellent written English and fluent spoken English 
  • World class sense of humour

IT and marketing automation software experience

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
  • Experience of using event or ticketing technology


Main Activities 

Work with the Marketing Director to:

  • Design an outstanding roster of events that deliver against P&L targets and strengthen Verdantix’s client relationships
  • Craft compelling propositions, agendas, speaker profiles, sponsorship materials
  • Manage the events team to execute against the programme and ensure that events remain on track against our established project management framework
  • Help to shape the future growth of the events business
  • Work with the broader marketing team to deliver successful event marketing
  • Work with the sales team to ensure the commercial success of the events programme
