Master systems integrators (MSIs) and smart building consultants offer services across the real estate life cycle, from defining end-goals and developing technical requirements to integrating systems and ensuring a smooth handover process. This report provides real estate professionals with an understanding of the role these service providers play in long-term building decarbonization planning. Our research finds that MSIs and consultants help executives adopt a holistic approach to decarbonization, and assist them in accessing building data for analysis, amongst other services. This report concludes by outlining four key questions firms should ask when selecting a service provider.
