Executive Summary

According to the WWF, by 2025, approximately two-thirds of the world’s population will face water shortages in some form. These shortages will impact every aspect of industry, from supply chain logistics to resource availability. As firms and mandates focus on water conservation and efficiency, EHS teams will be tasked with an increasing number of water-related duties.

Currently, EHS teams’ water-related mandates revolve around discharge quality assurance, usage tracking and larger environmental duties, all of which are under growing pressure from ESG initiatives as items deemed ‘material’ for organizations. To address mounting scrutiny, EHS teams are utilizing a wide range of point solutions and platform providers with various benefits for particular industries.

This short report will outline the current needs and requirements for water and wastewater management, the drivers for investment, critical functionality, and a number of industry-specific use cases and solution providers.
