In the real estate sector, the ‘agentic AI’ label covers products as dissimilar as a natural language search bar and a physics-based control loop, which leaves software buyers without a consistent basis for comparison and – in some cases – paying premium prices for capability that predates the agentic wave entirely. Verdantix finds that value concentrates in a far narrower band than vendor roadmaps suggest, covering high-volume tasks with structured or machine-generated inputs where the cost of an individual error is low. The strongest returns come from removing minutes from tasks performed hundreds of times a year rather than from sophisticated multi-agent architectures. Outside that band, deployments stall for organizational rather than technical reasons, with poor data quality, limited trust in autonomous decisions and portfolio variation all major barriers to success. Multi-agent systems running in production today orchestrate within a single platform, while agent-to-agent handoff across organizations remains largely theoretical. Real estate leaders should use this report to separate genuine agentic capability from relabelled automation, and to sequence their own deployments to line up with the determinants for success.
