Executive Summary

Buildings, and the ways in which users engage with them, leave significant environmental footprints – from the embodied carbon of materials used in construction, to everyday occupancy behaviours and building operations. Throughout its history, Schneider Electric has focused on energy management in its various guises. The firm is now positioning itself clearly around the challenge of helping businesses of all sizes, geographies and industries transform their buildings, to stepwise improve their carbon footprints and keep on track with their long-term net zero goals. Schneider Electric’s aspirations are ambitious; the world has a tough job ahead to reach lofty targets such as 85% of all buildings globally being zero-carbon-ready, and limiting global warming to just 1.5° by 2050. This report provides an overview of Schneider Electric’s strategy, and its expanding portfolio of solutions, to aid clients in their decarbonization journeys. It is one of a series of reports exploring smart building technology and service providers and their market offerings.
