Executive Summary

With corporates facing additional scrutiny over climate-related disclosures, and increased investor pressure, it has never been more important for corporates to understand and effectively manage their ESG-related risks. Data collected through a recent Verdantix global corporate survey indicate that, at most organizations, chief risk officers have a limited role to play in developing an ESG and sustainability strategy, with this responsibility often falling on the chief sustainability officer. Given the increasing amount of data that firms need to collect to manage their ESG risks, we expect a growing number to look for digital solutions. This report will assist software vendors in better understanding the needs of chief sustainability officers when it comes to managing ESG risk.
