Several key events impacted the ESG and sustainability landscape in 2024. The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) was rolled out, with the first reports due in 2025 – while other regulations, such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR), encountered delays and backward steps. Across the globe, national elections were held in more than 80 countries.
