Executive Summary

This report forms one in a series covering Asset Performance Management (APM) software providers. Founded in 2015, GE Digital is a subsidiary of General Electric. The firm is headquartered in San Ramon, California and is the commercial division that owns GE’s software assets. In December 2018, General Electric announced that GE Digital will be spun out as a separate entity — most likely in 2019. One of the core offerings in the GE Digital portfolio is its APM software which has grown from the acquisition of Meridium in September 2016. The comprehensive vision for GE Digital’s APM software connects asset reliability with financial performance metrics. Reflecting this vision, GE Digital has expanded the breadth and depth of APM functionality to support all of their customers’ asset management workflows and analytical challenges. As a standalone entity, GE Digital will have the strategic flexibility and market position to push further with its equipment-agnostic approach to resolving asset reliability challenges.
