AVEVA World 2026: Acquisitions And Alliances Signal A Broader Industrial Intelligence Play
At the AVEVA World 2026 conference in Milan, AVEVA made its direction unmistakable: scaling operational intelligence through a stronger ecosystem. The industrial software provider’s acquisition of TwinThread and strategic partnership with IFS both signal a decisive push to expand its industrial AI and asset management capabilities.
Already a leader in industrial AI analytics, AVEVA’s acquisition of TwinThread deepens its portfolio with complementary industrial AI capabilities. TwinThread has established itself with an engineer-first approach to analytics, offering a low-code/no-code platform that enables process optimization and predictive maintenance without heavy reliance on data science teams. Its Thread Builder interface and Model Factory capabilities allow users to rapidly deploy and benchmark out-of-the-box machine learning models, accelerating time to value.
For AVEVA, the acquisition is less about adding standalone functionality and more about consolidating and simplifying its industrial analytics stack. Integrating TwinThread’s capabilities into its broader portfolio strengthens AVEVA’s ability to deliver scalable, production-ready AI across asset-intensive industries.
Alongside this, AVEVA announced a technology partnership with IFS to deliver the Continuous Asset Decision Intelligence offering. Built on AVEVA’s CONNECT platform, the joint solution aims to unify operational technology (OT) data across the asset life cycle, spanning design, build, operate and optimize phases.
The partnership draws on complementary strengths. CONNECT provides the data foundation, while IFS brings capabilities for asset investment planning, field service management and EAM through its acquisitions of Copperleaf and Ultimo. Together, the firms are positioning a more joined-up approach to asset decision-making, linking CAPEX planning with OPEX performance in a single environment. The partnership with IFS also broadens AVEVA’s reach into industries beyond its traditional core markets such as telecommunications, aerospace & defence, and equipment maintenance.
These announcements signal AVEVA’s ambition to support more connected decision-making across project and asset life cycles. If it can execute, the strategic direction is well aligned with market demand for unified, data-centric platforms that can break down silos between planning, operations and performance.
