Executive Summary
On December 13, 2010 Deloitte Consulting announced the acquisition of the assets of two US sustainability consultants: ClearCarbon and DOMANI. The big four firm made a smart move by acquiring one technical and one strategic specialist sustainability consultant, complementing its core team with rare domain expertise focused on sustainability initiatives and cross-industry best practices. The US acquisitions follow the purchase of specialist carbon and sustainability consultancy dcarbon8 in the UK in March 2010. These acquisitions enable Deloitte to position itself competitively to take advantage of expected growth in the sustainability consulting market, leaving few independent sustainable business consultants in the US.
