Executive Summary
Lower operating costs and the introduction of feed-in-tariffs in the UK are fostering interest in solar and wind energy, and investing in renewable energy can deliver carbon reduction and brand benefits for firms. This webinar explores the financial and environmental business cases for firms investing in on-site renewable power generation. The research findings show attractive financial returns are possible but by no means guaranteed. To help CSOs, Energy Managers and other corporate sustainability decision makers, we compare the business cases for on-site wind turbine and solar panel installation, including the ROI and NPV of wind and solar installations, and identify the critical sensitivities arising from the scale of installation, future electricity price scenarios, and inclusion in the CRC or EU ETS.
