Influential Industry Survey Recognizes Verdantix As One Of The Top Three Most Important Green IT Analyst Firms
London, UK. August 12, 2009. A global survey of 137 analyst relations professionals conducted by the Institute of Industry Analyst Relations (IIAR) named Verdantix the third most important analyst firm for Green IT research. The IIAR is a worldwide association of technology analyst relations professionals who work for technology providers and PR agencies. Verdantix Director David Metcalfe was also nominated as one of the most important Green IT/Sustainability analysts worldwide.
“We are satisfied that our fact-based, forward-looking research on green IT and broader sustainable business challenges has been recognised by 137 members of the IIAR in 2009” commented Verdantix Director and software industry veteran David Metcalfe. “By recognising the importance of Verdantix to the industry, this global survey, with 72 per cent of respondents based in North America, demonstrates the deep interest that tech sector leaders have in climate change, sustainability and energy issues beyond the desktop and the data center. Verdantix will continue to deliver unique commercial research on sustainable IT to support the product initiatives and sustainability performance of tech sector firms.”
Announcing the results of the Analyst Of The Year 2009 survey, the IIAR noted it was “refreshing that other [analyst] houses also are listed and have managed to carve out their own niches, notably Verdantix”. The IIAR believes the factors that drive the importance of an analyst firm are: brand, sales coverage, quality, independence, exhaustiveness of the research and the impact the firm has on deals. The IIAR Analyst Of The Year 2009 survey results are available to view on the IIAR website.
“Verdantix differentiates its research offering with a focus on cross-functional sustainability initiatives” added Verdantix research leader Rodolphe d’Arjuzon. “Technology solutions like digital energy meters, telepresence, private smart grids, carbon management software, energy efficient telecoms network equipment and building management systems will play an increasingly important role in enterprise-wide carbon management.”
The IIAR’s recognition of the importance of Verdantix research is based on studies published during 2008 and early 2009. Notable reports include the Total Portfolio assessment of all Sustainable IT Solutions available on the market, the Green Quadrant analysis of Sustainable Telecoms providers in Europe and wide-ranging coverage of the nascent carbon management software market culminating in the recent Business Case study of carbon management software.
